Businesses are responding by auditing their cloud footprint, right-sizing over-provisioned infrastructure, and choosing providers and regions with strong renewable energy commitments. Sustainability reporting is also becoming a standard part of vendor selection, not just an afterthought.

The upside is that most green computing practices—efficient architectures, autoscaling, workload consolidation—also reduce cost, making sustainability and financial efficiency two sides of the same initiative.
